Shift patterns will be dependent on the needs of the child and may involve working a mixture of days, evenings, nights and weekends.
This post is for a fixed term period
The opportunity has arisen for fixed term recruitment of a health care support worker to support children with complex health care needs. The successful candidate will work within community, home or school setting to provide hands on nursing care to children with a range of complex health care conditions. This is an extremely rewarding area of practice caring for children with life limiting/ life threatening conditions. The post holder will be required to be caring, compassionate and dedicated. An ability to work well on own initiative and within a small team. The post holder will be required to work shifts mainly unsociable hours and nights. Previous experience and / or training in caring for a children with health care needs. Experience / knowledge of children with long term ventilation would be an advantage. Full training to deliver the hands on care required for a number of children supported by the service will be provided through competency assessment / training.
This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months to meet the needs of the service.
